We are currently what most would call "day hikers." We began going for long walks several years ago, and ventured into the woods in 2012. Our long vigorous walks on trails became an obsession...an obsession with the trail and the views we encounter along the way. Hence, the recent expensive camera purchase. As we age and learn how to explore nature around us, we are developing quite the desire to expand our hiking experience into longer overnight adventures. Each weekend, we venture out. This website is mostly for us, and for anyone who loves the experience of the trail, as well as the experience of that perfect photo opportunity you will find only by walking there.
This particular blog was started as we began our hiking adventures in 2012. We have continued to trek the wilds over the months and years, but forgot along the way to write it all down. Each adventure has been saved and recorded through photos, but it is time to begin writing again and recording our hiking experiences through the blog. Now begins my commitment to record our hiking adventures once again.
You can also follow us and see our adventures at hikesnphotos.wordpress.com.

Quabache State Park
Bluffton, Indiana
Trail 5 all the way around the Park. It's just amazing to me how truly beautiful it is in the woods. It feels like you step into another world and leave the stresses of life behind.

Trail 1
Black Swamp Park
Paulding, Oho
I'm a little ashamed of how short of a walk this was. I wanted to explore all of the trails while we were there but we went late evening and the Mosquitos were awful. Will definitely go back another day to finish.

Total distance hiked - 3.66 miles
This was just a short drive from where our son lives. This day was hot and buggy but I loved the walk along the Cooper River. Partly wet marsh and part trails. Good hiking condition other than a few more signs needed to follow the trail.

This trail was technically closed due to flooded trails but we walked back as far as we could before turning around and coming back out. Saw lots of deer tracks down the path. This would be a great woods to hike on a much drier day.
